Job Description

Outlook is Accenture’s online journal of high-performance business and the center point for the company’s best original and curated content on six core C-Suite themes: Digital Disruption, Competitiveness, Workforce of the Future, Global Operating Models, Open Innovation and Sustainability; together, these themes showcase the unique depth and breadth of Accenture’s thinking. A small core team of editors and writers is responsible for having the pulse of the organization’s content pipeline and identifying opportunities for creating additional, thematic original content as well as curating the best existing content from across the organization for inclusion in the publication. Outlook, and its associated app, serve as a hub for best practice in content creation and the journalistic, provocative and data-backed voice that complements our distinctive visual brand.

 

We are looking for an experienced marketing manager or editor with a “content-first”mindset and deep experience working in the digital ecosystem to join theOutlook team. The individual will be responsible for creating content that reinforces the positioning of our company’s practitioners as thought leaders, enhancing Accenture’s standing in the marketplace and supporting the continued growth of our client base.

 

The successful individual will have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to influence a number of different stakeholders. A strong individual contributor with an outgoing personality and intense desire to collaborate and innovate, the successful candidate will be hands-on and able to think on his or her feet. This is a role for a forward-thinking communicator who understands the strategic value that content must deliver to the business and recognizes and capitalizes on opportunities to add value.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop keen understanding of the breadth of Accenture’s expertise, working with marketing colleagues to showcase that knowledge and cultivate additional opportunities in the marketplace
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders, who represent multiple industries and lines of business
  • Drive content creation through close collaboration with writers, marketers and subject matter experts
  • Seek out strategic opportunities for content creation and curation based on key themes, with the goal of producing a steady stream of “snackable” curated pieces and original articles
  • Pitch ideas that offer a unique editorial slant while supporting key marketing objectives and messages
  • Review existing research and points of view to shape curated content
  • Conceptualize innovative new ways to present content, working with vendors and agencies as needed
  • Edit stories (including narrative points of view and “snackable” curated pieces), generating crisp, SEO-friendly headlines and subheds               
  • Support regular publishing of content by supplying required templates, copy and images to central publishing team for page builds
  • QA test pages built by members of the central publishing team, providing them with timely feedback and informing editor of any issues
  • Drive content promotion and cross-promotion efforts with marketing colleagues
  • Create social media posts for curated content; as needed, edit posts drafted by writers for original content
  • Contribute to the direction of Outlook’s overall content distribution strategy (both internally and externally), working with editor to identify ongoing opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor/request metrics and KPIs for all content, reviewing them regularly with editor
  • Traffic social media requests for posts on corporate channels
  • Maintain Outlook’s Facebook page

 

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA in marketing, communications, journalism or related field 
  • Minimum 10 years writing/editing/marketing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA
  • Proven social media and digital marketing skills

  • Analytical, with the ability to synthesize data and produce findings that can lead to recommended actions
