ABB is seeking Marketing and Sales Specialist GIS for its Princeton, NJ location. Responsible for managing the sale of Gas insulated Substation products and services, and for initiating efforts to increase market penetration within the North American Market. Manage sales initiatives and consult directly with customers regarding new or improved product offerings. Evaluate commercial and engineering aspects of customer requirements and develop and implement sales strategies designed to satisfy those requirements, while achieving maximum profit margin and customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities

  • Provide direction for, or serve as primary point of customer contact for the business area units represented. Ensure that business opportunities are recognized and the business units are positioned to take advantage of those opportunities.
  • Monitor sales and sales support activities to ensure customer satisfaction. Establish, build, and maintain long-term customer relationships in order to respond effectively to customer requirements, influence customer decisions and provide the Company with competitive advantages.
  • Direct or coordinate communications among customers and various business units to ensure accurate, consistent, and clear information that is responsive to customers.
  • Provide visibility the business units require to meet customer needs, identify resource requirements, forecast shop loading, and provide value-added offerings in response to customer inquiries.
  • Participate in and play a significant role in developing sales strategies, plans and schedules. Manage district sales activities to achieve assigned order intake, margin and related objectives. Negotiate leases and prepare and administer budgets, as applicable.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff, manage and document employee performance and develop associated recommendations.

Your background

  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field and 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Alternatively, this role could be filled at a more senior level, if the below basic qualifications are met:
  • Bachelor's Degree in business administration or related field and 12+ years of relevant experience
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Requires strong managerial skills and ability to interpret and forecast changes in customers' buying patterns and product requirements, anticipate market changes and evaluate competitors' products.
  • Requires broad knowledge of Company Gas Insulated Substation and High Voltage products and ability to develop business plans and sales strategies, communicate required product changes to management, and negotiate with, and influence customers.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
